Brief
To create a brand identity for AlphaSuite and AvennaX, two software products built around making complex bioinformatics and structural biology more accessible to researchers.
The goal was to create identities that felt scientific, intelligent, and technology driven, while still looking like they were from the same brand family. Rather than relying on typical biotech imagery, the branding uses an abstract interpretation of protein structures and molecular forms as the foundation for the visual language.
Concept
The identities are built around the idea of structure, both in the scientific sense and in the way information is organised through software. I developed an abstract, geometric interpretation of a folded protein structure and incorporated it directly into the letterforms. The form becomes the defining detail of the A in AlphaSuite and is carried across into the A and X of AvennaX, creating a visual connection between the two brands.

Motion Graphics
To bring the identities to life, I created a smooth motion sequence built around the same abstract structural language used in the logos.
The animation starts with simple geometric forms that gradually curve, rotate and come together, almost like a molecular structure folding into place. The shapes then transition naturally into the distinctive A and X forms used across the identities before resolving into the final AvennaX wordmark.
I wanted the movement to feel fluid, precise and almost organic, rather than relying on fast or overly complex effects. The smooth transitions reflect the idea of scientific structures constantly connecting, transforming and revealing new information, which fits naturally with both bioinformatics and machine-learning software.
